History of BDS Flash
BDS
Flash was started in 2005 by James Dixon, who
for some reason "Wanted an internet site". James
became well known for his nickname "Dicko" and
uses the name throughout forums and other stuff.
Dicko was an enthusiastic, young animator at the
age of 12 inspired by John of www.jmtb02.com for
his Frame-By-Frame animations. Dicko, as the
years progressed, became a lot better at flash,
aiming more towards the side of Graphic Design
than flash animations. When Robert Anderson B (TastyLamp)
entered Dickos life (Both being silly
Australians), Dicko's enthusiasm in flash
exploded, working in collabs with Robert as much
as possible (Sometimes due to the fact that
Robert cant draw and i can't code - how good a
team do we make?) and recently got a first
sponsored game out on the web!
Sites
BDS's original
site was TERRIBLE after Dicko thought he could
do web design with absolutely no experience.
Again this is where Robert comes in. He happily
designed a new site for me, which rocked (at the
time ) Robert, like Me has improved in his
skills at an amazing rate. After the old one got
out of date - he designed me a new one, using
the theme of my gradient and X's that he liked
and wanted to do something with. I loved that
site - it's truly amazing. Its SO easy to add
things to the site and I don't have to edit
every page for small changes... It's all run VIA
MySQL and PHP! Thanks Rob!
Today, I made my own website. It's not scripted
to the max like Roberts previous one, but there
is a small amount of PHP code that runs the news
system on the front page that I made myself. The
current site is more dedicated to graphics
rather than script, but I do really enjoy the
way it turned out.
Today
Today Dicko works happily in Graphic Design and
Web Design and enjoys every aspect of them. He
is enthusiastic about his work and will be for
many more days to come! (Look forward to more
collabs with Robert!)
